It is a great company, but too much change, not enough "you" time anymore

I have been working at The Gap full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Good pay, great benefits. Works alot with the community.

Cons

Ever since Mr Fisher (Founder of Gap Inc) died its not about family anymore. Its all about how many hours can we be open and what holidays can we work everyone to make more money. About 85% of the employees that work holidays dont want to be there and are available until 2pm. Its time and a half, so Ill work

I have been working at The Gap part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Great Training
    Gained Experience
    Employee Discount
    Quick response to application
    Dress Code

    Cons

Inconsistent hours. You could be scheduled for a 4 hour shift, but sent home after a 3 hours shift. There is on-call, but only sometimes are you asked to stay. One week you could have 15 hours the next week you could have 9 hours. It really depends on how the store is doing. Unfortunately hours are based on seniority and availability, but even then hours are scarce.
