I worked at The Gap full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Good culture
Good benefits, work/life balance. Casual work environment (jeans to work everyday). Cafeteria on site. 50% clothing discount at BR and Gap was great.

Cons

No bonuses provided for assistants. Didn't feel appreciated especially since HR handed me the list of bonuses and how much each manager, director on the team would be receiving as their bonus. Let's say the amounts were not small!

    Pros

great company, same sex couple benefits, they really genuinely believe in workplace diversity, great pay for retail, good benefits (employee discount).

    Cons

micro managing, it's retail so you spend hours dealing with mind numbingly stupid people, not much job growth opportunity.

I worked at The Gap full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Worked with a lot of great people and created friendships that lasted outside of the job. The benefits were pretty competitive, good amount of PTO given, and the pay was above average.

    Cons

Too much emphasis on signing up customers for store credit cards, often the work was tedious, scheduling was all over the place.
