I have been working at The Gap full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    the discount, some amazing managers,

    Cons

mundane dialy tasks, lack of acknowledgment and praise for staff, staff overlooked when it comes to a promotion, some managers seem inexperienced, or just too laid back.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

listen to the staff just as much as you do the store managers, we are the ones on the shop floor all day everyday, we know the logistics of the shop floor and where improvement is needed. Just because we are sales associate doesnt mean we dont have hte potential to make a difference.

I have been working at The Gap as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

    1. Get employee discount (up to 50%)
    2. Nice first job experience
    3. People are nice (as long as you don't question their authority)
    4. There are different positions for you to learn (including back stocking, cashier and sales)

    Cons

There is not much Cons I can say about the job, except
    1. Minimum pay rate ($10.25/hr)
    2. Unless you like interacting with others, this is not a long term job for you
    3. Depends on your location, the floor design might be a mess and the products might be hard to find
    4. If you want to get a long term job, you better interact will with others, especially the managers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You guys can do better, also I think it's better to choose employee that is suited for the job and not simply the employee you like the best.
