I have been working at The Gap part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

-Most people in my store are very nice, as well as happy and willing to help guide you.
-This is a company where you have the opportunity to move up!
-Amazing discount. 50% off full price!

    Cons

-We are often understaffed, which means that at certain times there may be only one employee on the floor!
-Visual displays can be a pain in the butt; we simply do not have time to complete some of the tasks that are sent our way.
-People NEVER get fired, no matter what they do. This leads to gossip, laziness, and other toxic behaviors within stores.
-I have worked at the store 2 years and still make under $9 per hour. Raises are infrequent and tend to only be a few cents at a time.
-We cannot use our discount online. This can lead to some employees returning online products in store and then buying them back with the discount/losing money for our store. I hope upper mgmt eventually allows us to use our discount online so we can combat that issue.
-Some employees are burnt out, probably due to low pay for very hard work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give us more hours! With only 2-3 people on per shift, we cannot be at the front of the store and the back of the store, as well as tending to customers needs, tending to the fitting room, answering phones, keeping the store clean, doing Ship From Store, etc etc etc!
