Pros

Great people and excellent benefits!

Cons

Company is not growing domestically, closing more stores than opening. It is trying to cut expenses by eliminating upper level management positions and releveling them to Sr. Manager or Manager level positions.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Any changes you are thinking of making, do them quickly, so as to not cause further disengagement of employees. Communicate and plan the changes more strategically.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have no problem with the management, except that corporate never gets to see the horrible shape the store gets in. Perhaps if they saw it, there might be ways to improve the visual displays to make them more efficient.

    DISCOUNT
managers are super easy to talk to
definitely ability to grow inside the company and QUICKLY
    sales associates are really chill

    Cons

sometimes we receive horrible shifts (7p-4a, INVENTORY)
until recently, not much incentive to sell Gap Cards (watched pretty closely by management)
pay isn't great to start...at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Follow up more often with the progress of your sales associates. Many of them are still struggling after more than 6 months on the job. TRAINING CAN BE AN ASSOCIATES BEST FRIEND. Train often. New associates can't just be thrown onto the floor and expected to learn on the go. Most sales associates won't go out of their way to help. Teach the necessary selling points of a few important products and let a veteran associate help them while they are on the floor. If they can't sell denim, they shouldn't even be near it.
