The Gap – “Gap Doesn't Care About their Employees”

Pros

The best thing about Gap were the benefits. I was amazed how much more it cost me to get basic medical insurance at my next job.

Cons

Incompetent management, corrupt promotions, lack of respect from managers and business partners, no ownership of your area, too heavily weighted toward merchandising, lack of a feeling of community, cliquey, no opportunity for advancement.

Advice to Senior Management

I think that the Gap is the worst place a person could possibly work. Senior Management needs to give each employee the respect and recognition they deserve. They need to recognize good employees when they find them, and cut loose anyone else. There are too many managers at Gap that were only promoted because they have been with the company for X number of years, and they are HORRIBLE at managing people.
