I have been working at The Hartford full-time (less than a year)

Pros

Great pay and steady hours. The Hartford does appear to want to develop your skills in the business world.

Cons

Anxiety infested work environment. Most people in the call center and group benefits department don't last due to the amount of stress in the work place.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make work loads more manageable.

Former Employee - Customer Care Representative

I worked at The Hartford full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Steady hours, steady paycheck with a shift differential for working a weekend day

    Cons

Very few opportunities to move off the phones to other roles, high pressure from management on metrics that didn't always make sense, process changes would be implemented before we were fully trained on them or resource materials were updated, verbal abuse from customers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure that your procedures and initiatives match and make sense on a day-to-day level and recognize that your staff is human and morale is important. Holding events that are supposed to be a fun boost without allowing time off the phones to participate only adds to the frustration.
