Great brand, but don't let that fool you.

    Pros

    Company Car, Pay, 401K, iPad
(perks are great at first...however they aren't worth it in the long run)

    Cons

-Working in Walmarts for 7hrs a day. At the end of the day you feel like you are an overpaid Walmart employee. Not only checking for distribution, you are in the backrooms of stores fighting to get product on the floor. Once you get the space, you must do all the labor. Management will tell you "get the store to move product for you" but that is unrealistic and only happens sometimes. At the end of the day, Walmart will look at you as free labor. Even with all of the consultative selling tactics, the stores will want your help getting the product out.
-Was told when taking the job I wouldn't be moving product.
-During seasons you will pack out product All. Day. Long.
-Management wants you to be the CEO of your territory, but then they tell you how long to be in each store, how long your drive time should be between each store and expect 1 hr of admin time a week to be enough to get planning done for your calls.
-Very cut throat and will throw people on the team under the bus as a tactic to motivate others.
-Feels like management is building a small army and they want each person to fit the same mold.

If you are thinking about taking this job ask yourself: do I want to have a box cutter on my hip, moving product all day long (store after store), be in the backroom of Walmarts using pallet jacks, fighting with store managers to see things your way, feel like a cheese ball using consultative selling all day...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Consultative Selling is a great tool, but it shouldn't be treated as the Bible.
-Disconnect between headquarters/managers and it all rolls downhill to the RSR level.

I worked at The Hershey Company as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

    Amazing mentors and friendly team
Everyone is willing to lend advice
Monthly sales meetings are fun and upbeat

    Cons

As a sales representative you work all day on your own with limited interaction with other hershey employees
Only time you get to spend time with other team members is once a month at team meetings
VERY repetitious. Visit several grocery and superstores in one day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pair representatives together at points during the week for friendly interaction and advice sharing

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    Approves of CEO
