I have been working at The Home Depot

Pros

Great team environment. great to work with the community on projects. associates care about each other like a family. the company invests a lot of time in training their associates to succeed.

Cons

getting time off as a saleried associate, annual review system seems unfair. having to meet percentages of certain ratings

Advice to ManagementAdvice

revise the rating sytem to NOT include requring the store to meet a percentage of o's, v's or I's. sometimes there are associates that deserve the higher rating, but there is no more room for them and they get held back.

I have been working at The Home Depot

    Pros

it's a paycheck, health insurance, three weeks paid time off each year after the first year, one of the highest paid jobs in retail so i'm told.

    Cons

insane schedule, such as having to work till 10:00pm and be back at 6:00 am the next day. assistant managers have it worse as they are commonly scheduled till midnight and then have to return at 4:00am the next day. having to wear that stupid orange apron.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

take better care of the employees by not expecting a 200 percent output and regular schedules, no more having to work three shifts in one week. rotate shifts wher employees work the same schedule for a couple weeks at least with at least one weekend off every month. this would of course require hiring enough people to do the job in he first place.

I have been working at The Home Depot

    Pros

Some of the best reasons to work for Home Depot is that they are very flexible with your schedule. They allow a great range of shifts to people that are just looking for part time work while their children are at school to other people wanting extra income that work 40 hours a week.

    Cons

Some downsides to working at Home Depot are not enough associates on the floor at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to associates' needs
