I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

So many great people, managers always willing to help, lots of little employee perks, and even if you start at the bottom as a lot associate or cashier, there will opportunities for you to move up if you express that you want to to a manager

    Cons

Hours weren't always consistent, no employee discount, quick turnaround in lower positions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

listen to all your employee needs

I worked at The Home Depot part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, being about to have paid time off and start a 401k when I was only 18 was a great benefit, health, dental and eye coverage also available but I didn't use that. Also discounts from other companies (like cell phone bill) just for working there. Overall great working environment after you get used to standing on concrete all day. Decent pay but yearly raises aren't anything special. Great incentives to learn more throughout the store and work across different departments. Occasionally our store would have cookouts for us on Saturdays or raffles and other fun things. Free flu shots at work too during the winter.

    Cons

Feet hurt at the end of the day for the first few months even with new sneakers. Yearly raises (though I only worked long enough for 1 of them) wasn't even 25 cents, but it was still enough for me at the time.
