I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (less than a year)

Pros

-for the most part my coworkers are great.
-good benefits
-flexible hours

Cons

They NEVER have enough people on the floor at a time. The managers don't really care about you. As long as you are on your feet then they don't hate you. We are strictly not allowed to sit if we are injured- without a doctor's sick note. You are not guaranteed to get breaks on time, and will probably miss lots of coffee breaks. It's different at every store, but the supervisors and managers at my store are very rude, demeaning and don't care about the well-being of the people working on the floor. Also, There really isn't much job security.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to show that they care. They need to understand that sometimes we can't perform 100% and sometimes they need to send people home if they can't do their job accurately on that day- But there are never enough people scheduled, so if one person can't show up to work, the entire department falls behind.
