Former Employee - Paint Sales Associate in Austin, TX
Former Employee - Paint Sales Associate in Austin, TX

I worked at The Home Depot part-time (more than an year)

Pros

I loved the willingness to work with my schedule as student in college. Fair amount of hours given, and they gave me a lot of info on my products that I used to be a knowledgable worker. Decent starting pay and ability for small bonuses.

Cons

Just issues that you would find at everywhere. I had issues with my department head being upset that I would help costumers in other departments. Nothing major.

I have been working at The Home Depot as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

You have a lot of freedom as an intern and they have various fun events for interns. I found that most associates on my team were very happy to help us with technical problems and I actually had a very good workload for an internship. It was a great experience as I got a lot of exposure to various frameworks and libraries.

    Cons

Hourly pay. Impossible to find documentation. Tribal knowledge.

I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

If you work for Corporate you have better hours.

    Cons

Tell you to "bleed orange" all the time, tell you its alright if you have to stay home with a sick kid but when you do it gets held against you, say they want to work with you if you have a family but then act like you don't care about your job and threaten to fire you.
