    Pros

    - Benefits are good - 3PM leaves on Friday year round - Salary is reasonable

    Cons

    - Upper managements are all devils and control freaks - OT everyday, very long working hours. (12 hours avg.) - Horrible office culture and they treat ppl very rude. Lots of politics going on - high turn over rates, the ppl working there are either stay for 20 years or less than 2 years. Upper managements have no clue what's going on outside the world. They are like communist.

    I worked at The Jones Group (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Discount 40 percent, even on sale items

    Cons

    They used to be a good company to work for, but after the restructuring in 2009 the company made serious cuts to jobs and benefits. This contributed to loss of morale and didn't feel like a family company anymore. Those in higher management positions expected more, but hardly recognized those who went beyond company goals/standards. There are DSM's who showed lack of leadership, hardly did proper store visits (some even went shopping instead of performing a proper visit), there was lack of communication between upper and lower management. The idea now that corporate perceives to retail workers is, they believe any one who's with the company to long is 'complacent' and would rather bring in new people, instead of believing in the tenured employee's.

    Advice to Management

    Believe in the worker's you do have, motivate them, give incentives, promote within. Stop trying to format your company like the rest of retail; listen to the workers, they know what works and what doesn't, they are the ones who get to know what the customer's need and want.
