Pros

Projects are diverse and plentiful, and there are often opportunities to travel.

Cons

Benefits are not great and often require you to pay a substaintial amount yourself.

Advice to Management

More training is needed for younger staff.

Utilization-Felder. Like a molting snake, Kleinfelder sheds its skin often with a "new company structure."

    Pros

    Giving my 2-weeks.

If you're good at kissing ass, you'll love Kleinfelder. Just keep singing the praises of the "new company structure". Say an enthusiastic YES, no matter how often. This is key to getting on the inside track to the good ol' boys club.

    Cons

"Share some of the downsides of working at the Kleinfelder Group."

Hmm, where do you start? Seeing the admins, enginners, clients and techs getting punked at every turn? Dealing with a stifling bureaucracy that makes it nearly impossible to get work? Getting paid 1/2 to 1/4 of what similar engineering skillsets make in the industry? Attending meeting after meeting while hearing management whine, cry and wail about utilization?

    Advice to Management?

Kleinfelder management does not engage in "listening", so what's the point of offering any?

    Pros

Now that I have been out of the company for several years now, it is really difficult to note the positives of the current management regime

    Cons

Recent management never seems to listen to the rank and file. It is an "Old Boys Club"... and the direct shareholder group is a "Who You Know Club" where one has to be both nominated and voted on before becoming a member. Bad managers are rarely ever fired... Instead they are demoted and allowed to stay on with the hope that they will get frustrated enough to quit.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of those bad managers... they drag down the morale of an office.
Give credit to the Rank and File... they deserve spot bonuses just as much as those who are PM and above.
Base awards on MERIT and what contributions individuals have provided to the company regardless of what position that person holds.
