    Pros

Great supervisor; diverse group of co-workers; flexible schedule

    Cons

Hierarchical employment structure; noncommittal part-time model

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your employees through part-time benefits and more full-time employment at the guest admissions level. They are they face of your organization and are likely going to up-sell, project a positive image, and contribute their feedback with passion if they have job security and a future with the organization.

Years of dedicated service, ended by an insecure manager.

I worked at The Museum of Science and Industry full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

It is one of the top 10 science museums in the world. You can impact over a million people a year. It has a rich history in Chicago, generations of families visit all the time.

    Cons

Management changes continue to dumb down the guest experience. Seriously, people in rainbow colored lab coats with "flair" on their lanyards taking guests through the U-505? There are only 5 of them left in the world, it's a WWII memorial. How disrespectful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find a way to instill a sense of respect for yourselves. Trite catchwords painted on the walls are no substitute for taking the time to listen to your staff.
