I have been working at The Nature Conservancy

    Pros

The mission is wonderful and there are many people that really live for it.
Large organization with decent pay for a non-profit.
Flexible hours and great work life balance

    Cons

The organization is too top heavy which makes it difficult for employees to move up in the organization and too many egos in the organization.
Does not acknowledge talent or it takes to long to acknowledge it and good employees are already out the door.
Constantly restructuring and reorganizing, which makes it hard to focus on a set a priorities and excel at them.
Great work from home policy, but its not consistent makes it hard to have a create a good team environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

See about promoting or empowering current staff before hiring another senior leader on top of them.
While the CEO is promoting interesting things, create a better culture of innovation at all levels of the organization not just science.
