I worked at The Network full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's easy enough to get hired on and there are several job fairs a year, which is very convenient if you need to get a job in a hurry. The benefits package includes health insurance, dental, vision, STD, LTD, and 401k. Overtime is usually available. Overall, the management team is a solid group of nice people. The other employees generally just want to put in their 8 (or 10 or 12) hours and go home. There's not much drama.

    Cons

The hours are irregular. You're assigned to a two hour start window and your start time can start in 15 minute increments within that window. It can really play havoc with the rest of your life. The insurance is expensive. I ended up working as much overtime as I could stand to bring something home after paying for the insurance. The bonus structure is excessively stringent. It's a real downer to listen to people's sob stories all day long. Between the low rate of pay and the day in and day out of listening to angry/sad/indignant people all day long, I got out as soon as I could.

    Advice to Management

Make the job more worthwhile to the employees and either increase the hourly wage or negotiate lower insurance rates.

For a low paying call center job, it is a decent place to work.

    Pros

Performance is evaluated fairly by objective criteria Expectations are clearly communicated Management is helpful, fair and respectful Attractive, clean work environment/campus Opportunity for a lot of overtime Layoffs are not in the vocabulary Decent benefit package

    Cons

The work itself in the Compliance department can be tedious and soul sucking, as you are listening to employees of clients complain about their jobs. The pay is very low in relation to the quality and professionalism expected. Less opportunity for advancement than expected-the positions one step out of the call center do not involve a raise in hourly rate. Nearly impossible to achieve maximum monthly bonus level, no matter how hard you strive- one or two minor mistakes can keep you out of the quality bonus. Raises are not in the vocabulary.

    Advice to Management

Max bonus is all but impossible- a slight change in the structure would still reward quality, but improve morale and retention. Ongoing, formal training in methods to improve handling time would benefit the company's bottom line, and the employees' ability to max on bonus.
