Alright, although theres a very bro-esque culture at times.

I have been working at The North Face

Pros

good discount, good benefits for part time- including sick time and vacation. paid holidays etc. usually more consistent hours than other retail jobs. not too much actual work most of the time.

Cons

sort of intense about living the brand, company favors people who are super outdoorsy, regardless of whether or not your work is good. my store seems sort of masculine culture oriented, perhaps my manager just prefers his frat bro style employees.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

maybe a little more transparency and more instructions before getting chastised. i don;t know, its one of the better stores i've worked at.

I worked at The North Face

    Pros

The easiest part of the job is actually selling the product, because it is of good quality. Once you know you're selling the best it gets easier. Environment is friendly and management appreciates their workers.

    Cons

Not much room for mobility. It takes a lot of time working there to get a promotion and sometimes the management lacks competence. The inventory system is off, and communications with outlets is poor at the best.

I have been working at The North Face

    Pros

Fun place to work because its an awesome company and you learn a lot. The discount makes it worth it.

    Cons

Communication between all levels of the company, from corporate, to the entry level positions seems in dissarray. Company seems somewhat disorganized at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The product training is excellent, but when it comes to OV's the training/teaching is non-existent. Teach employees how to compare TNF with the major outdoor brands.
