    Pros

Lots of opportunity to move around the organization, especially since it is part of the Sutter Health network. Access to resources and information. Rich benefit plan (though expensive when covering dependents). Very competitive salary ranges for industry, but you will work for it! If you are looking for challenge and opportunity to make suggestions or lead projects, PAMF is a great place to work. They are constantly finding ways to improve, though slow going, it's nice to know there are always things to do and ways to contribute.

    Cons

Leadership is always available to staff, but not always very clear or decisive on company changes or projects. There truly is a very huge work load; some people thrive in that environment, but others may become overly stressed out. There are times when the company implements a new process or program and they haven't quite thought out all the possible areas where there could be issues and it causes some 'back-peddling'.

    Pros

PAMF is a solid place to work in terms of pay, benefits, hours, and ability to advance. The recent conversion from IDX to Epic was horrid, and it's good to be on the other side of that transition.

    Cons

Downsides include management not listening to their patients or staff. Patients go through hell to get their refills. Faxes aren't received, calls aren't returned and the staff gets an earful based on this antiquated system. We have the ability to manage our patients within their EHR's--why can't we go to a full e-refill system?

    Advice to Management

Your staff have valuable ideas and input, and a lot of it comes from us working the front lines of your foundation. Listen to our suggestions, whether it's about staffing, reducing wait times for patients or changing the recording that patients listen to while they're on hold. Patient don't want to hear how "valued" they are when they've been on hold for 25 minutes. They'll feel valued once someone picks up the phone and helps them deal with their issue.
