a sad example of mismanagement and a dysfunctional culture

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsHighly educated, diverse, and dedicated staff. Good benefits package (medical, dental, and disability). Globally oriented with offices in China, India, and Brazil. Public mission dedicated to public safety with medicines, food ingredients, and supplements.

ConsStrategy changes from week to week, resulting in inefficiency and confusion. Lack of ability to focus on key initiatives because of strategical fickleness. Adverserial culture in management team, more interested in one-upping each other than working together. CEO lacks good judgment, controlled more by his whim of the week than sound judgment, which places the organization at fiscal risk.

Advice to Senior ManagementCreating a culture of listening, respect, and cooperation. The divisiveness between departments as well as within departments keeps the organization from working optimally, producing inefficiency and poor morale.

Impartiality for public health and saftey over profits of a private, not-for-profit incorporation.
