I worked at The Washington Post

Pros

decent benefits, but fewer options reflect economic conditions

Cons

some mid-level managers are not suited to the role

Advice to Management

more concerned with systems of operation than work environment; some means of measuring job performance does not reflect actual functions of the job and negates the standards.

    Pros

Emerging IT department, very cognizant of changing needs in their field. Will not be left behind if employed here

    Cons

Not 100% IT company. This is what I desire for my career, but there is a necessity for split focus here

    Pros

The team you work with is the most critical aspect of how well you do and grow.

    Cons

Communication and flexibility with leaders is not always the best, but not a complete negative experience.

    Advice to Management

Management can improve by having an open mind, know the facts and leave out the politics.
