Pros

- Interact with key organizations working in development field
- Work with very intelligent people
- Learn about development on the macro level

Cons

- very bureaucratic
- things move slow
- many people are jaded after working here for a long time
- a lot of people work at the WB for the wrong reasons and don't seem that passionate

Advice to Management

Dismantle the hierarchy a bit more to encourage team work. Don't rely so much on consultants. The high turn around rate and strict limitations on consultants seem very inefficient and you need more long-term people working on projects

    Pros

Great place to work around of smart and qualified people. The pay is above the market salary.

    Cons

STC contracts are terrible. You can only work for 150 days per fiscal year and after that you have to be out for around 4 months before they can hire you back. No benefits or rights at all.

    Advice to Management

Revise the STC figure. Unfair and you end-up loosing smart people.

    Pros

Great access to high level policy makers, resources available for staff and in debth experience in developmental health and economics internationally.

    Cons

No benefits for STCs, and a capatation on the number of days you are allowed to work with little to few opportunities to transition into permanent staff unless you have a PhD.

    Advice to Management

Extend the number of days for STCs (more than 150 please), and provide more mentorship and leadership opportunities for younger staff to be long term members of the Bank.
