Disapproves of CEO

Pros

Pitch like pros, always looking for a "big idea." Very bad at executing those ideas, strategically and creatively. Great at finding genuinely talented junior staff, but susceptible to bullsh*t artists at most higher levels. Data group is solid, but spends time massaging bad results.

Cons

Completely unable to deliver on promises made in pitches. Waste too much time in meetings and morale/profile building activities, to detriment of client work. People rewarded for sucking up, not results.

Advice to Management

Spend more time (and allow staff to focus) on real projects, before the client is walking out the door.

    Pros

Smart, hard-working people. The rank and file is seriously committed to servicing their clients and delivering meaningful results. Impressive global network. A few very talented stand-outs.

    Cons

Executive management is disconnected from staff and clients. Executive management delivers very little value. Raises and promotions are difficult to come by resulting in a high attrition rate among the most talented staff. Like many publicly traded companies, the focus is on the bottom line.

    Advice to Management

Practice "management by walking around" instead of secluding yourselves in your offices. Demonstrate your value to clients and staff. Understand that when clients tell you repeatedly that your Creative and Strategic output is sub-standard, they are probably telling you the truth.

Not a good choice for developers since they don't let you write code.

    Pros

    They're generous with the PTO.

    Cons

It's just a staffing company with a marketing focus. They don't actually consult.

    Advice to Management

Stop the politicking and give the developers some real IT resources.
