Pros

Insurance is good and some workers are good to work with.

Cons

Horrible desicion making and some supervisors rather be tyrants then be respectful or to listen to employee opinions. Leads are stuck on stupid and have no knowledge of the workplace and spend more time talking about other employees flaws then to rather fix them. It's shamfull that employees no more than the lead. Brownosing will get you far in this company and not being noticed for your hard work.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees rather then thinking you know more than them.

    Pros

Thermo Fisher Scientific is a great company to work for if you are seeking a job function with a narrow job function. There is plenty of opportunity for high potential employees to hone their business skills and capabilities.

    Cons

This is not the company to work or if you like to wear a lot of hats. Also, the pyramid can get farily narrow past mid-management positions and it may be difficult to get promoted from within to a higher band position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

With size comes the potential to lose perspective of what made the legacy businesses perspective. Keep a focus on the customer and understand what the true core competencies are of the repective businesses and divisions.

I worked at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

The working environment is great. The co-workers and boss are nice and diligent. Always willing to help. The compensation is not bad as well.

    Cons

Depending on your project length or business opportunities in your field of market, the job may not be very stable. Laid-off is normal when it comes to bad economy conditions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not too aggressive for the lay off
