    Pros

-Is A Creative Outlet -Fun fellow co-workers -Discount is good

    Cons

-Not anywhere near enough training for any position, even manager. -High Stress!!!!! -No breaks, often go without lunch/dinner -Hard to even use bathroom at times, and on single coverage, you're doing so in a very worried manner. -High pressure/pushy sales tactics. Customers complain about it all the time. -Not enough training for part timers (only 8 hours to run whole store, open, close, engrave, sell, EVERYTHING on SINGLE coverage). -High turnover due to above, means constantly starting over on re-building your staff. -At customer's mercy, ALL THE TIME. -Cheap jewelry, falls apart when the weather changes or the wind blows. -No respect for family/work/life balance. -Work EVERY holiday, and usually EVERY day leading up to it. For example in December you'll work with only 3-4 days off before Christmas, and only one (if you can) in the last two weeks. During mother's day and father's day weeks you work (at least) a six day work week and on the holiday (is REQUIRED) AND you'll have to stay late (AND so will your staff) while you do floor set till 10pm-1am AFTER working a 10 hour day. This is true of every holiday. -Vacations are hard to take. -You do ALOT of work on your own time, without pay. -Bonus program SUCKS, is hard to even tell you got it.

    Advice to Management

LISTEN to your people. They tell you over and over again about training hours, needing more hours for payroll, lack of work/life balance, etc... Don't just hear them, actually LISTEN to what they're saying. We are not stupid, we know that this STAR bonus program sucks compared to the old one. A floor set at 5am the day after a holiday, sucks just the same as staying late after a 10-14 hour day previous, and when you get off at 6-8pm, we've already missed most of the point of the holiday anyhow.

  2. The work was mundane. The coworkers were bitter, unhappy pod people

    Pros

the 40% off discount on the overpriced merchandise came in handy for Wedding presents

    Cons

The employees are miserable. nobody smiles, says hello or looks up from their spreadsheets. If you have a pleasant, happy disposition you will be an outcast.
