Former Employee - Applications Engineer in New York, NY
Former Employee - Applications Engineer in New York, NY

I worked at Thomas Publishing Company LLC full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

In my seven years at ThomasNet, I gained extensive knowledge and experience. As an Application Engineer, I learned the proper ways and techniques of technical/consultative selling, as well as, the vast experience in working with various levels of management at an organization, and the ability to confidently run meetings with C-level executives.

In addition, I learned the intricacies and differences between all types of companies, as well as, understanding the requirements/demands of different markets. And, last but not least, perfecting my public speaking skills through conducting in-person seminars and webinars.

All of these skills have bettered me as an individual, but also has made me an extremely well-rounded valuable/attractive professional. I cannot thank ThomasNet enough for all of this.

Cons

Due to the flat/horizontal management structure, certain departments don't have as much growth opportunities as other departments.
