I worked at Thomas and Herbert full-time for more than a year

    Pros

CEO and COO are very committed to the success of the firm; Family-oriented values and environment; Some honest sharing with employees about challenges and issues; Competitive pay and benefits; Telework available for some contracts; Great co-workers and customers.

    Cons

Little or no communication from upper management; Inadequate business development; Lack of consistent processes and procedures for HR, payroll and other administrative functions (including performance reviews).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Prepare employees by communicating early and often about key changes- contractors know and share information before you do. Consider hiring a part-time or full-time proposal manager (or sharing one with a group of smaller firms) because proposal efforts are disorganized and unfocused. And please ensure all employees receive a detailed performance review at least once a year.

    Neutral Outlook
    Approves of CEO
