A financial service provider (amongst other industries) with the attitude of a media company

ProsA (relatively) relaxed work environment, with access to a massive breadth of information from a range of industries and geographies, and reasonably little in the way of office politics.

ConsThomson Reuters claims to be 'one company' in all its internal missives but even now, years since the merger between Thomson and Reuters, this is mostly just lip service with various HR and internal IT departments finding new ways to rename the ex-Thomson and ex-Reuters offerings (e.g. Green Users and Orange Users).

    Volatile Sales Environment

    Pros: Great People, Great Scenery, Decent earning potential Cons: Benefits downgrade each year, 0-1% Salary increase in record profit years. You are just a number and will fire you at the bat of… Advice to Senior Management: When people start in sales at Thomson Reuters they are basically told to understand( by colleagues) that this will likely be a temporary position (6-12months)… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
