Pros

Allows Employee Involvement in many aspects
Treats Employee's fairly

Cons

Turnover is high, however as long as you perform there isn't anything to worry about.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

People are people. They have families and as such should not be a puppet that can come in whenever they are needed.

I have been working at ThyssenKrupp Materials full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Big company with many locations. Has scale to be successful if it could learn to execute.

    Cons

Very poorly managed company. Losing market share to Reliance and other key players in the industry. Financial performance dramatically lags behind other competitors. Known for hiring outside salesman who bring along a book of business and then letting them go through a restructuring in a couple years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hire some outside talent.

    Pros

Brand name and reputation of company.
High emphasis on integrity and ethics.
    Financial strength.
    Part of a diversified group.

    Cons

Low career growth prospects (higher positions don't open up).
    Inconsistent titles and designations.
Service departments (IT, HR/Benefits, etc.) not as efficient / competent as I have seen elsewhere.
Internally available positions not advertised but filled privately.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Expand activities so that people can keep themselves stimulated. Evaluate the strengths of the service functions through surveys of internal customers.
