I have been working at Ticketmaster full-time (More than a year)

Pros

+ Great experience with large Fortune 500 + Interesting diverse work set + Company is changing itself and the industry

Cons

+ Big company with corporate politics + Old system in process of change which is painful + Compensation not great

Advice to Management

Smile more. Don't look so hurried and surly and into your iPhones and blackberries all the time. It creates a culture of fear to voice an opinion and be yourself.

I worked at Ticketmaster full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very cool industry, free tickets (except to the more popular events) if you are client facing, some very cool coworkers / managers, pier support, very stable company, good benefits, flexible schedule (when they need it, but when you need it too), very casual dress code.

    Cons

Very low salaries for field employees are a company culture that’s been there forever through the many ownership changes and it doesn't look like it will go away, completely overworked employees, lots of frustrated employees that are either grumpy or mistreating coworkers, you are always on call (officially or unofficially, but you are receiving company emails 24/7 and are expected to reply immediately several times), poor communication, they have released so many different versions of every product (and none of them work acceptably) that there is A LOT of confusion in the field, field employee input is ignored, field employees only support the little that they can and pass on the rest to remote groups with which they have to constantly struggle, no place for creativity or hands-on work, snake pit with tons of people trying to save their behinds by blaming others.

    Advice to Management

Stop wasting money in programs and propaganda to boost employee morale. The best way to boost employee morale is to compensate them adequately and to hire enough people so that your workers don't have to work 12 hours per day.

I worked at Ticketmaster full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Sometimes got free tickets to not-so-popular concerts and can generally guarantee tickets for popular acts through internal purchase program.

    Cons

At least when I was there, engineering/project management VPs played favorites to their core group of people that they knew from school or previous employment or to good looking women. I overhead management team say they brought candidates in simply because they were attractive females.

    Advice to Management

    Overhaul Ticketmaster folks.
