Tim Hortons – “Communication is key.”
Pros
The regular customers. They become part of your morning routine at work and you form very nice relationships with most of them.
Cons
Poor communication, lack of positive feedback. Staff pay rates are poor and most of the employees love to gossip.
Advice to Senior Management
District Managers and Corporate Staff,
You need to earn the respect and trust of those of you that work below you. The management team in each store and staff are the ones that produce the customers and sales. When you walk into each of your stores, you should be acknowledging not only the management but the crew as well. In my eyes, that is disrespectful and you display behaviors that indicate that you could care less about those employees.
Trust your management team. Listen to their opinions and ideas before you immediately shoot them down. You are "teachers" to those below you and again, you need to earn the respect from your "students".
Don't always trust what you are told either... people abuse the Always Fair and Open Door Policies.
