I worked at Time as an intern (less than an year)

Pros

Good structure, a lot of programming for interns (speeches, summer projects, etc.), good mentoring from my manager, positive interactions with HR

Cons

Company seems to be moving in the right direction in terms of moving from print to digital, just don't seem to be quite there yet - large company so change might take a while. That being said the new CEO they brought in has this target in mind

I have been working at Time full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great work life balance. Compensation is competitive with the industry. Management is very understanding and flexible.

    Cons

The industry itself is in decline and there has not been enough innovation to stay relevant. There must be a more focused vision that should be communicated across the organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Define a realistic vision and communicate it clearly to all employees

I worked at Time as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

    - Great summer project for interns that allows them to present ideas to some of the senior managers (although I don't think anything has ever really come of the ideas for prior years' classes).
    - Huge emphasis on work life balance. Not many people in the building past 5pm. Summer Fridays.

    Cons

    - Culture of company is quite slow, even in a tough environment for media companies. There doesn't seem to be much of a bias for action; instead there's a lot of box checking.
    - Company is very large and bureaucratic.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Flatten the organization so entrepreneurial ideas are better heard.
