I have been working at Time full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Good work life balance, benefits (which is changing with the spin-off), nice people

Cons

Very old-fashioned way of thinking - not forward thinking. People are set in their ways and stuck in the publishing business model, takes forever to move up the ladder with the many levels (assist manager, associate manager, manager, senior manager, assoc director, director, etc...)

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Preach what you say - instead of just saying you are ready for change, actually do it!

I worked at Time as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

My favorite thing about working at Time in was the brands you get exposed to. They make the work very diverse and attract a wide array of people.

    Cons

The summer I was there, the company was undergoing a huge restructuring in preparation for it spinoff from Time Warner, so things were a little hectic.

I have been working at Time full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits and work-life balance. Experience depends largely on your boss and how innovative they are

    Cons

Declining industry and no vision or energy or around energizing it or exploring new areas. Focused on trying to fix print advertising model instead of looking into new areas

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more cutting edge. Spend more time listening to the youngest people in your organization who have a much better sense of the reality of media today. Too much money invested in print. Invest at least 10-20% into radically new ideas and 30-40% in media outside of print.
