I worked at Time Warner Cable full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Division structure gave us flexibility and a great competitive advantage. Having leaders in the division was a strength. Coordination of operations and sales under a single, local leader provided great customer satisfaction and efficiency.

Cons

Inexplicable desire to centralize the business took away our advantages and destroyed morale. Remote teams are detached from one another - no teamwork and problem solving.

Advice to Management

Decentralize. You don't need to look like a telecom. The inability to synchronize operations, sales, and strategy is a function of your extreme centralization.

    I worked at Time Warner Cable full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    A degree was not needed to be hired. I received ample and paid training that lasted for several weeks. All employees receive courtesy services--free cable tv, high-speed internet, and voip. From what I was aware, the starting wage was at least industry average.

    Cons

    You might get the same issues from customers several times a day. You will be responsible assisting irate customers who may be irate due to another employee's mistakes or misinformation. Bonuses were few and far between.

    decent pay and some good benefits. Nice people to work with.

    Cons

    "regionalization" destroys management structure and creates terrible leaders. Awful health insurance.

    Advice to Management

    There is nothing you can do. Make those shareholders happy...
