Pros

Great benefits, decent compensation,a group of people that take pride in their jobs, want to do a good job and want to take care of the customer. Products are very good - data products (high speed internet) are the best in the class, video product offerings are as good as anything on the market and the voice products are reliable and a great value for the consumer. Residential markets are fighting to keep customers and business class (while a smaller part of the overall business) remain a growth area for the Company. TW is now in effect a telecommunication company by its product set and compared to the other companies in those markets probably the best one to work for today.

Cons

A lot of recent management restructuring is moving the frontline folks with decision making ability away from the customer. Regional decisions made 1,000 miles away don't always ring true in the local market whether it be promotions or policies. Administration (including HR) seem to be non existent for personal contact without a lot of effort on the employee's part.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The goal should not be to be the best telecommunication company (as that is not really a very lofty goal nor are these the companies that lead the "Most Admired Companies Lists") If the larger Region Model is the structure, remember that the buying decisions are still local and can be unique to a market area. Remember what made TWC a great company in the first place

Poor management, worse upper management; fraternization abounds

    Pros

My peers were competent, pay and benefits were very good, but were not enough to keep me there.

    Cons

Limited to no career path in my department; constantly shifting management and team structure, made it difficult to stay and remain on board with constantly shifting initiatives. Managed by babysitting; untrusting managers were directed by leadership to cube check, walk the halls and check IM status of employees on the team, because, if your mouse moves every 5 minutes, you must be working. Limited, if ever positive feedback on anything, critical feedback was was a given and was often delivered publicly. Employees are scared and not motivated to take risks and this culture was created. Executive leaders fish on social networking sites for dirt on their employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trust that your people want to do good work for you. When you treat professionals like 2 year olds, they will absolutely leave.
