The more things Change

Field Service Technician (Former Employee)
Killeen, TX

I worked at Time Warner Cable full-time for more than 5 years

ProsExcellent growth potential for your hourly rate as long as you meet metrics.

ConsThe company 5 years ago prided itself on not doing any layoffs. Now they are taking an axe to anyone within a certain range who no longer meets their needs instead of giving them a chance to re-class into another suitable position or transfer to a location where they are needed. People who have been loyal to the company for 35 years suddenly just get a pink slip and a severance package and a kick in the butt out the door. After 35 years with a single company, the severance is alright and ability to keep your pension is a nice touch but what about loyalty to your employees?

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep the knowledgeable people around and get rid of any hints of cronyism and nepotism in your ranks.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
