Time Warner Cable does not care about its employees, it puts its profits a head of anything and everyone.

I have been working at Time Warner Cable full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

If you enjoy helping others, it is quite rewarding.. If you enjoy technical work then this job can be for you. Benefits are good, including the potential to make commissions on sales made from the technical support calls.

    Cons

Again, no respect for the individual, low morale.. Instead of having a peaceful productive working environment, they create a hostile environment where everyone is scared to even utilize the rights given by the law. Supervisors can be biased, and can carry personal vendettas for everything.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They need to re-evulate the entire customer service / technical support department.. Care more about the employees since we are the ones that contact with your customers. If you can even be decent with the employees, your company will suffer as employees feel neglected, unwanted and threaten.

I have been working at Time Warner Cable full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Benifits, if you lucky enough to get hired full time.

    Cons

Benefits are getting very expensive and they are hiring more part time employees so they don’t have to provide them. Time Warner Cable used to be a great place to work before the regionalization with the east coast. The offices were locally run, and had control over customer service. It is now a metric based company; meet the numbers or your axed. Employees are so over worked and underappreciated; customer service is now the last concern. There are so many angry customers and angry online reviews because staff can’t care and keep their job. It seems like they are trying to run their company into the ground on purpose. Lately employees who make above a certain pay grade are the first to be axed and replaced by employee at one-third the salary. They treat everyone under management like bottom feeders who are dispensable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring control back down to the local level. Too many heads above the water can't see or feel the impact on the customers and employees. The numbers are skewed. There may be a quick rise in revenue because of raised prices and hiring unskilled employees who haven’t worked in a couple years, but Time Warner is taking a hit and loosing customers who will never come back. The fact is, really unhappy customers who try to stay loyal to the point that are going insane, are going to satellite where cable fluctuations because of environment are never an issue. Time Warner Cable is heading down a slippery slope that may be very difficult to return from.
