Current Employee - Network Analyst in Austin, TX

Pros

Decent pay scale, decent benefits, including a pension. This contributes to employees that can deal with the poor management structure staying for a good long while. Turn over is relatively low.

Cons

Management is very old-school, and very invisible to the average employee until something goes wrong. Even in technical groups, no value is given to technical ability, so innovation is very low to non-existent. This is probably due to overt lack of competition.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring in management talent that has recent management education. Pursue education of the workforce, innovation, and share earnings with staff instead of funding share buybacks.

Current Employee - Lead Service Technician
Current Employee - Lead Service Technician

    Pros

-Good Insurance, generally better than most major corporations, although the cost has more than doubled in the last 10 years
-The people you meet are generally very nice that work with you, although most are burned out and/or tired of the constant changes, mis-information, poor management, and straight up lying that HR does
-Decent discounts on products they offer and also on Cell Phone services, purchases of products etc.

    Cons

-Management constantly changes policies, rules, regulations, standards of practice and standards of ethics without telling anyone until they get in trouble or fired
-The turn over rate is absolutely crazy, even in a poor economy
-Employee morale is completely destroyed at all times due to the lack of respect, caring, and resolution that the company gives it's employees; when they do speak, it's all lip service.
-The company has and will continue to completely fail it's employees when it comes to taking care of them with fair compensation; they pay MUCH less than ALL of their competitors and their benefits package is HALF of what their competitors offer
-Human Resources will flat out lie to your face, quote laws that dont exist, quote policies that never existed, and state you have to follow what someone verbally tells you, even if they never did, and they will write you up and fire you over things that never happened if they dont like you or want to replace you with someone paid less
-They will lie in your performance review to make sure you get no more than a 2% raise yearly. Most of the time it is less than 1%.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Every single member of upper management should be gutted and fired by the investors
    -***LISTEN TO YOUR EMPLOYEES!!!!***
-Stop Lying to your employees, don't take BS opinion surveys and pad the numbers and dont LIE and state your fixing things when all your doing is providing lip service
-STOP changing the rules, policies, standards, etc on a WEEKLY basis and, if they do change, NOTIFY EVERYONE OF IT so they can abide by it
-Realize that your employees hate working for your company and that the majority is here for a JOB not a CAREER; they'd rather get paid and go home than take the extra step and do more than the bare minimum
-CARE about your customer base, dont charge RIDICULOUS $4 fees for NOTHING and don't nickle and dime customers while telling them it's in their best interest. It makes the company look pathetic and your employees look terrible and hate working for you.
