Cons
I've worked for Palmer Cable, Colony, Contiental, Media One, and Time Warner over a period of 16 years and in the same region. Time Warner was by far the worst -- and that's saying something, Palmer Cable didn't give us trucks with a/c while working in the 2nd hottest place in the country, 120 days of over 100 degrees. Death Valley runs a little hotter. Between these 5 different Cable Companies Time Warner puts profit ahead of anything else, even in the most mundane of things, cable fittings, using the cheapest available. Nevermind a better and previously used fitting would save money in the future with reduced service calls and repair. This extends to their workforce, doing all to increase production while still paying a low wage and poor beneifits -- stock options, about 30 over 3 years, Media One gave us 313 over 3 years. It's a mute point anyway given the poor value of Time Warner stock. Even after a Employee Survey it took over 2 years to see a slight increase in pay. Maybe, after a major brain drain they finally got the hint. I worked with 6 people with a combined 79 years of experience who left within 1 year. Don't look to move up as management is rooted deep. They aren't going anywhere, so neither are you.
