I worked at Time Warner full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The company is like working with family. People really going out of their way to be helpful.

    Cons

Like most families, not everyone is a star performer and they were kept when the were dragging down performance. Performance was all short term focused, the long term wasn't factored into how we pursued sales strategies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward stars, encourage more of them to join the company.

Current Employee - Sales Assistant  in  Los Angeles, CA
Current Employee - Sales Assistant in Los Angeles, CA

I have been working at Time Warner full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great networking, learning from some of the most talented professionals in print ad sales in Los Angeles. PHENOMENAL work/life balance

    Cons

Little room for growth within LA office. Sales Assistants do not get promoted to reps at Time Inc, but you get phenomenal experience and exposure to agencies, clients, processes, and new ad products. There are opportunities in NY if you are willing to move.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

OPEN UP POSITIONS IN SATELLITE OFFICES. You are losing young, talented staff to your competition. Offer small promotions- Sales Coordinater, Assistant Sales Planner, etc. It will give young talent an incentive to stay.
