Timken – “Teamwork severely lacking”
Pros
Company has been around for over 100 years. Pay and benefits are average. Most of the employees are good people to work with.
Cons
Management worried too much about what the plant looks like to the eye rather than organizing things that would make it easier for workers to perform their jobs. Example: Too much time is spent looking for things that have been misplaced because no one knows where it supposed to be or where to put things when they're done with it.
Some workers with less talent get preferred treatment with extra overtime hours or promotions because they are "kiss ups" or "rats" while more talented people are stuck where they are.
Advice to Senior Management
Become more in tune with what each employees tasks are on a daily basis and become more invovled with how to make these tasks easier. Too much management "ranting" and "blaming" and pointing fingers when things go wrong but no help or interaction with management on how to fix things.
Employees would like to here some positive feedback about there performance when it's deserved not just the negetive stuff when they slip up.
