Pros

Timken is a respected company in the industry for its technical competence and engineering achievements. It is a global company that may give opportunity to live naywhere in the world.

Cons

There is very little accepted input from those that are closest to the market. It does not value the importance of the sales relationship to the customer nor the knowledge and experience that sales may have to the process.

Advice to Senior Management

Be more receptive to those that are closer to the market. Work to include them in plans that affect them. It is not important to implement but it is VERY important that they feel like they are part of the process...and someone up top may learn something. We are too many times following SALES suggestions after failure of other practices.
