    I have been working at Tommy Bahama full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Love the relaxed concept
    Associates were fun to work with
    Customers were super nice and had great stories
    Great employee discount and wardrobing policy

    Cons

    Not enough diversity
    There was a lot of down time
    Pay does not match expectation
    Managers spoke to you as if you were beneath them and did tons of micromanagement

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    As long as you continue to micro manage great workers you will lose them.

    I worked at Tommy Bahama full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    I loved meeting all the customers that arrived from far away, the company gravitates around all the cultures that meet. Tommys' always encouraged employees to converse and create relationships with customers. There was a monthly touch base on sales, performance and any other concerns. At the moment, I worked with a great team and communication didn't fail. Any questions or concerns were always properly and professionally addressed by my floor supervisor. I definitely see room to grow.

    Cons

    The hours definitely killed me. Sadly enough, commission is not individually offered. There was definitely tension between management which always made the rest of the employees uncomfortable. Overall, non-management to management employee relationships were great.
