Pros

In a tight economy I am grateful to have been offered a full time position with a company that offers benefits to employees. I have encountered a positive work environment with supportive co-workers.

Cons

The hourly wage is not great; $10.25/hour. Some pressure to switch customers from big name brands that have been aggressively advertised at bargain prices to higher priced products that are not always better in quality.

Advice to Management

If you don't want to sell cases of big name brands, don't advertise them at prices lower than all the competitors.

    Pros

Learn about Wine, Spirits, and Beer. 30% discount on store labels

    Cons

Long hours, the stocking crew and most of the cashiers will be the lowest on the totem pole. our store was great at having contests for the sales staff to win gift cards or bottles but lacked any reasonable reward program for the entire stocking crew and the same goes in consideration for the department entirely. Not really willing to work with any change in schedule if you're full time. Frequently the same person would scheduled to leave at ten P.M. only to return at Seven A.M. They do not hire from the ground up, our store currently has two managers hired off the street and are in the process of hiring a third.

    Advice to Management

Hire less managers and more leaders, when you like and respect the individual in charge you want to do what they ask you to do. Treat your merchandising crew and cashiers with the same respect as you treat the sales staff we work just as hard.
