I worked at TracyLocke full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

creative fun environment
talented people
easy to get promoted to fill staff voids

Cons

management unplugged
inefficient
poor communication
too many talent shifts to fill staffing voids with no long-term vision or career plan for employees
always relying on flagship retainer to carry smaller size client retainers or new business
Can't keep best industry talent
burn and churn through entry level employees
account leadership bullies and is very unprofessional - no clue

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at your management team. Extremely unprofessional and bias. Team would be ill-qualified if it weren't for the pre-established relationships they have with one main flagship client. If you need proof, look at your track record with new business. COO needs to be less organic and more attune. Sad state of affairs for a once talented agency.

    Pros

Great place to work if you can tune out the politics. The work is interesting, most of the people are great, and the place is full of energy. Though I have plenty of complaints, it's still one of the better companies that I have worked for.

    Cons

TL is constantly blowing up the structure in an attempt to improve, but really they are only making things difficult. The work produced trends towards the stale, as the creative department loves recycling. There is very little communication between management and field employees, and the agency has a complete disconnect with both field employees and field clients. The average age at the agency is probably 23, which may explain the quality of work. There is little room for advancement, and politics are abound. Merit alone will not propel your career at TL.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to the field, and clamp down on the home office. It wouldn't hurt to have a little bit of discipline. Focus less on empty philosophical "paradigm shifts" and focus more on your people and producing quality advertising.
