Former Employee – worked at Traffic Geyser
Pros – The office location is great with plenty of parking.
Employees at the time were friendly and great people to work with (they've all since moved on).
During really busy times, the company would provide food.
Flexible hours.
Communication between departments was open and clear.
Cons – Every "employee" is actually a 1099 contractor that got sucked in to the company. As such, there are no benefits of any kind and you pay all the taxes. You'll probably have to bring your own equipment unless it's something specialized like video editing. Because no one is an actual employee, they can ask you to stop coming in at any time (it happened while I was there, not to me though). They still require all contractors to work on-site like employees.
Any sense of company culture that tried to grow was cut off by management trying to pit employees against each other.
The company does semi-regular product launches with ridiculous time frames that requires everyone to work 50-80 hour weeks with no clear compensation for the extra hours. The first launch I was involved in, I was under-compensated considering the extra hours put in. The second launch, they didn't reach their goal in sales so no one was compensated for the extra work.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop trying to evade taxes and hire actual employees. Stop devaluing the departments that actually make the product. Stop using developers overseas that can barely speak English and do sub-par work. Pay employees what they're worth including necessary overtime.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
