Transamerica presented many challenges and many opportunities but often at the cost of the work-life balance.

    I worked at Transamerica

    Pros

Analytically challenging problems, ability to influence company's success, direct access to management, opportunity to develop and drive strategy for business success

    Cons

Disparate business units, failure to work collectively between these units, many occasions where individuals sought to protect self interests above company success

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Transamerica is working towards, but still requires, increased integration from divergent business units with competing strategies and incentives. There needs to be an emphasis on this going forward.
