    Very Long Year

I worked at Transamerican Auto Parts

    Pros

The checks clear. And they seem to be pretty big for anything in the department I worked in. The company attracted some cool, out-going people because of the products they sold. Made a lot of friends working their. Not many companies this large do you get the opportunity to walk up to the CEO single day and speak with him.

    Cons

You spent most of your time impressing investors to keep the company going, rather than innovate ways to stay competitive. The culture is horrible. Stale management using staff to solve personal vindettas. I heard a couple shouting matches between upper management right infront of lower level staff. It was almost an event when it happened... maybe that should be a pro..

    Anyways.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When you make offers, Be sure to deliver what is promised. Spend SOME money on renovating your office. I've seen people leave simply because they can't sit in a building with no windows any longer.

I worked at Transamerican Auto Parts full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Sales commissions are easy to reach if you are willing to work hard. With the diverse inventory on display and available through the DC's, it makes the stores fun to work at. This amount of product makes it easier to help customer's find the exact product they are after.

    Cons

Due to the size of the company and the fact that many managers seem grandfathered in to their positions, it is very political working here. Managers who do not have as much experience or knowledge as their Assistant Managers, tend to micro-manage them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at demographics and location of stores before putting unobtainable sales goals on the store. If traffic cannot get to your store, how can you expect sales to flourish?
