I worked at Transocean Offshore Deepwater Drilling full-time (less than a year)

Pros

Get to socialize with people from all around the world. It has employees from France, Italy, Australia, and many more. Company provides good food at very subsidized rates. Hot beverage access 24/7.

Cons

Was working for their IT support. It was quite a drab to work. working hours were less but the work was also less. It felt more a like a vacation working here.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change the IT manager. Doesnt really know to encohrage people to work.

    Pros

Great benefits and total package, large company stability, good advancement opportunity, company is willing to train. Paid travel, consistent 21 on 21 off.

I have been working at Transocean Offshore Deepwater Drilling

    Pros

Great schedule and good pay. Can live anywhere in the US and they will fly you to work. Offshore workers usually have 3 weeks on, 3 weeks off rotation so you get about 6 months of vacation a year.

    Cons

3 weeks away from home can feel like a long time. 12 hour work days for seven days a week can be tiring.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I understand the importance of safety, but sometimes repetitive safety meetings lose their meaning and become a waste of time. Instead of having daily meetings perhaps it would be better to have them twice a week.
