    Pros

Benefits are outstanding, respect for employees is great, offices are nice, senior management is approachable and affable. In addition, there is no micromanaging and there is trust in the workforce.

    Cons

There seems to be a lack of communication generally and few opportunities for employees to get to know each other and to network. Furthermore, there is reluctance to encourage travel, even when the relationships that can be built would help the organization. In other words, you are just a name and an email address if you are not given the opportunity to strengthen communication by travel to other sectors and divisions. (Of course, there is a large population of the company that does travel out of necessity, but some shore based positions would greatly benefit by the establishment of relationships beyond an email and an occasional telephone conversation.)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide opportunities for employees to mix, to network within the company, and to know one another.

    Pros

    Transocean employees are paid well.

    Cons

Run like a startup, often felt disorganized, true value is held in the experience of tenured employees, wrought with infighting from constant mergers. Offshore operations is where the money is made therefore where the focus is. This is a disadvantage to onshore personnel who help make offshore operations possible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No employee likes every decision management makes. Your strategy is your own. Thank you for the severence.
